Ansaphone Inc. of Quincy is providing a holiday phone bank through Dec. 31 for all-in donations to Lend a Hand.
“This is a great way for us to get some exposure and to give back to the community and utilize the resources we have available. We are very much looking forward to it,” said Wil Porter, the company’s sales and marketing director.
The phone number is 617-424-9825 and Ansaphone employees will be available to take calls 24 hours a day, including Christmas and New Year's.
Ansaphone began in 1945 as an in-home answering service catering to the medical and business community in Cambridge. It has been run by the Porter family ever since. It moved to 1212 Hancock St. in Quincy Center about eight years ago.
“Our roots are in the city,” Porter said.
The company has 25 employees, most of them full-time.
Wil Porter is among the third generation of his family to work in the business. He is excited about the company’s involvement with Lend a Hand.
“It’s really a great opportunity for our employees to give back to the community,” Porter said.
He added that he expects his firm’s expertise will make it easier and quicker for people to donate to Lend a Hand.
“If it makes it more convenient for people to donate, it will be good,” he said.
In 2001, Ansaphone received the Award of Excellence from Associated Tele-Services International.
